Angle House is a low energy new build 2-bedroom + home office family house located in Tottenham. The design is a response to challenging site constraints, including footprint, massing and rights of light, and to a requirement to achieve passive house standards. This results in an efficient use of the available footprint and orientation opportunities, whilst responding to the brief.
Offering abundant daylight and an exceptional biophilic experience, the house is designed with long-lasting materials requiring low maintenance thus ensuring a lower carbon footprint in the long term. In addition energy-efficient features include maximum use of natural light, substantial external wall insulation combined with high level of airtightness, 20m2 of green roof, solar panels and energy-recovery ventilation system. These measures result in space heating demand of just over 25KWh/m2/yr (at least 85% less than for a standard detached house in the UK).
